Jeanette Carter is a self-made woman who started her 30-year career in corporate America by teaching herself programming languages at home at night with books from the company library. When this data entry operator “blew the lid off the scale” on the programming aptitude test, she was immediately transferred into the programming department as a trainee.
Carter worked her way up through the ranks to programming manager, spending the last 13 years of her career at Wal-Mart corporate headquarters where she was the project leader for many major projects.
Her lifelong interest in illness prevention and natural approaches to health led her to start her own wellness business in 1994 while still working full-time. Five years later she retired from “corporate America” to focus on her wellness business, remarried and relocated with her new husband.
A certified wellness educator and professional health coach, Carter credits her childhood with establishing a love of nature, fresh food and an active lifestyle. The harvest from a very large family garden was sold to numerous grocery stores and restaurants for many years. Carter still had enough time and energy to play basketball in junior and senior high school, as well as reign as homecoming queen in her senior year.
